I think fast road is a good way to describe a product that can withstand more abuse that a standard item but still be fully useable on the road.
Also I rate my EBC yellowstuff highly as a "fast road" pad But I'll never use them on a track.

They don't work on track apparently as the are EBC pads so they must be fast road.
