Update 10.1.12 :

Today i did quite alot of work on engine. Started about 10 o'clock and finished about 4:30 as it was getting dark. Stripped most of it off but came to a holt and spent about two hours trying to get a rounded off bolt on exhaust manifold,bloody nightmare but got there in the end.I'd have got alot more done otherwise.

Started off like this.





All inlet/fuel rail/start and charge loom off





Then looked like this



Gearbox off,was a right weight,good job i've been to gym





Then got it on crane



And finally on stand,was a right ball ache lining all bolts up





Here's one for you Shaun as you forgot to give me proper tool for it (bodge)





Didn't need this anymore



I couldn't get manifold off so painted all back of block,just a light coat for now.



Decided to just pain starter motor as i bolted the bolt to it so couldn't take it off



Manifold finally off,started off as a 13mm and ended up as 8mm,but got mad and used chisel and hammer



This was the culprit











Bits everywhere



And how i left it for tonight

looking good mate , take alt and starter of and paint them , you will regret it if you dont when its fitted as it will annoy you

good work mate i would be blocking that crank breather hole as you never know what could drop down there without you knowing

Yea eventually mate,what a pain!!

Two of the heat shield bolts have snapped so the thread is still in block. Gotta get that sorted.

Yeah the far left one on my heat shield is snapped in, can't be annoyed with getting it out though
