Guillem Balague on Giovanni Dos Santos:
Question: Shelly, London.
Hi Guillem, I'm a Spurs fan and I was wondering, with all the talk of Gio Dos Santos going around at the moment, if you thought that he was ready for the rigours of Premiership football yet? I've seen quite a bit of him playing for Barcelona on television and, while talented, he looks like he might struggle to adapt.
Answer:
That’s a very good question Shelly. Barcelona played a very clever game with Gio. They knew all along that the really special talent coming through their youth ranks was Bojan Krkic, but they made sure that everybody got to hear all about this Mexican-Brazilian kid who was a bit flashy and looked like Ronaldinho.
The problem was, that with the expectations surrounding Gio reaching such a high, when he failed to live up to them, the fans turned on him and he even got whistled by his own supporters at the Camp Nou.
Giovani Dos Santos has lots to learn and needs someone to tell him that he’s got lots to learn. He often spends far too long dribbling with the ball, when often, a simple pass will do; he’s individualistic and can be selfish at times. He needs to start working harder in training and he has got to focus more upon his football.
Nevertheless, he possesses genuine flair and is one of those players that can make things happen: a dying breed. But if he is going to be a real success, he must first address the flaws in his game. Well just have to wait and see...

I still stand by the fact that if the one club who have seen more than him than anyone else - Barca - didnt rate him enough to either a. keep hold of him, or b. sell him for a huge price, then he isnt as good as the hype around him.
It'll be fun to see just how long he lasts in tough games against the lower sides in the PL where his dribbling will lead to one thing only - his ass flat on the ground!

I've always said that's what they did with Dos Santos, Ballague has now confirmed it
He's decent right enough but the wonderkid tag was way overboard.

My sentiments exactly, they sold it him to a 2nd rate team for what, less than £5m? So they can't have rated him that highly :S
I'm sure hes good enough but many SPuds seem to think hes the next Ronaldo

Spurs fans make me laugh tbh.
They had no problem scoring goals last season, think they scored the second most after us, so all they really needed to do was improve their defence. Instead they've sold their two forwards (Berb will go) and have bought a load of middle of the road (Bentley) and totally unproven (Modric and Dos Santos) and think they'll win anything.
If they'd of just spent a load of money on a defensive midfielder and defenders then I'd actually highly rate their chances of breaking into the top 4.

Leave just mainly the ones that have.
Robinson, Malbranque, and possibly Lenon, hes gone quite abit down hill in my books.
Join.. well as you have said, its proven Spurs can score goals, we just cant stop them, so just really a keeper, and a few top ranked defenders, no one in particular, ill be happy once Bale is back fit as i feel we suffured without him.
I know Berb is likey to go, but i would have had Keane a hundred times over Berb, keane is a team player, Berb is a lazy shite ass! yeah hes good, but hes a sulky little tit! who doesnt want to work for the ball or help out!
