Been toying around with Lightroom lately. Such a powerful tool!
Never bothered much with RAW, but thought I'd take the car out yesterday and do some RAW shots to see how it would come out.
First three were shot with my budget EOS and 50mm, last one with the X10.

Really like those. What version of lightroom are you using?

The lighting is really nice. Any particular technique you used to achieve that?

Sunset!
In film making the last hour the sun is above the horizon is called the Golden or the Magic hour.
That last hour of sunshine is pretty perfect for almost any type of photography.
As for post processing it really depends on the photo. I adjusted almost all the basic settings.
As the car is white I mostly turned the Highlights and Whites way down, to get a bit of detail in the paint.
I use the Clarity slider often, but modestly. Rarely put it above +20-40.
Vibrance and Saturation bring out a bit of life. I'll often lower one and raise the other.
In shots where the sky isn't visible I'll tone down almost all Aqua and Blue using HSL, as it removes the reflection of the sky from paint and windows.
Lastly I use the Graduated and Radial filters as well as the Adjustment Brush to correct isolated areas of the shot.
Not very specific, I know, but it honestly depends a lot on the base photo.
Also keep in mind I'm fairly new to Lightroom, so there's a lot I'm yet to learn.

Loving the CR-Z photos Alex, they are stunning! I might try the processing technique to deal with sky reflections.
Andy - have you done another shoot for Derek? Looks like another Goodun

thanks Rob, yeah I did another shoot for him, on location in Southport this time round. Caused abit of a stir getting recognised but it was a Sunday afternoon when the weather was lovely so Southport was heaving Hoping to have another one with him back in the studio again soon which should be good he's really good in front of the camera so I always get nice shots out of him, and aside from that he's a really nice guy so a pleasure to work with
Thought I would take a break from human portraits with some animal ones mostly cats but couldn't resist the little guy at the end!

It was my birthday yesterday and I had a few drinks so unfortunately I wasn't able to travel to a better location with more interesting scenery and less light pollution, but I went into my garden and caught a few meteors anyway...

Cheers mate. I've spent some more time on it and think its improved it slightly.

I then had to overlay CAD to the image as this was the whole purpose of it. Personally I don't like it but its what I was asked to achieve.

I think you sacrificed a lot of detail with that last edit.
Engine compartment does look better, but I think you need to revert the paint back to the previous exposure level.
CAD overlay does look a bit meh, but I guess it serves a purpose and the execution is pretty spot on.

Couple of the moon tonight.
300mm, f20, 1/200, ISO800
Cropped a massive amount, and on my D60, which I think is only 6.2m pixels
