How much are Everton paying for Smith? I'd quite happily carry the useless fucker to Goodison

Bristol Rovers striker Josh Klein-Davies has joined Luton Town on loan.
Meanwhile, manager Mick Harford also confirmed that the club have agreed terms to sign Colchester United midfielder Kevin Watson on a permanent deal.

A star at Leeds United.
Looked very promising when he came to Man United, scored some good goals. (People might want to look on You Tube, theres some good ones). We then signed Wayne Rooney, Fergie tried to make Smithy in to the potential Roy Keane replacement so began playing him in midfield, a position totally wrong for Smithy. He looked like a duck out of water. After his leg break against Liverpool he simply hasn't been the same player, he reverted back to his preferred forward position and looked a lot better, admittedly not match fit but at least in the correct role. He took a good goal against Roma upon his return and also played for the England B team, a match which Owen also returned in surrounded by great hype, although it was Smithy that scored the goal. The idiots at Newcastle have primarily played him as a midfielder and stupidly as a winger. Hes not the player he was and never will be, neither will Owen for that matter. To say he is one of the worst strikers in the Premiership is very harsh considering what hes gone though and the positions hes been made to play in.

Defender Craig Cathcart to Plymouth on 6 month loan. In other words, in 6 months time he'll be sold to them!

I'd agree with most of that, given a good run in the team in his prefered position I think he'll do well.

Silva would be a good signing for the right price, although think his Euro 08 performances would of inflated it to a stupid level.
Rafa has been hinting at Barry again it seems, but made it clear that Alonso may not be sacrified
"The situation is not a question of money," said Benitez after Liverpool beat Lazio 1-0 in a friendly on Friday.
"He is English and can play three different positions, but I am talking about someone who can play on the left."
"We have a good player (Alonso) and we have another good player coming in soon.
"We can improve the squad, so we will try to do that. We will bring in one more player if we can.
"I do not know when but clearly we have problems on the left, Kewell has gone, Aurelio is injured and Leto cannot get a work permit.
"Babel is away in the Olympic Games. Maybe he can come back and fill that role, but I know we can improve in this area.
"Who comes in? It could be another left-sided player rather than a central midfielder.
"Maybe he can play in three different positions, that is a positive thing. I am talking about one player, but I won't say the name."

Depends if the board stump up the cash though. I hope we get barry, as benitez has pointed out we are currently low on players who can play left sided. I don't necessarily see that as barry's role for ever, the only thing I will say is that all the teams who have won the PL in the last few yeras have had a number of above average CM who don't necessarily play every game and lucas maybe isn't quite at that level yet, whilst gerrard might still be paired just off torres alot and if anyone gets injured again (alonso, mascherano) we would have a quality player to fit in there (as well as rotation )
I am so excited about the PL now I think/hope (especially if we sign barry) that the versatility of our players will confuse fuck out of opposition

His line saying 'The situation is not a question of money' is hopefully a sign that he has had the go ahead from the powers that be.
And just for Tom...
------------------------------Reina------------------------------
Arbeloa-------------Carra----------Agger-----------Dossena
------------Alonso----------Masch------------Barry-----------
-----------------------------Gerrard----------------------------
-----------------Torres-------------------Keane---------------
Plus a really strong bench with: Kuyt, Benayoun, Babel, Skrtel, Lucas, Degen, NGog, Insua, Nemeth, Darby, Plessis, Spearing, Pacheco

Actually I forgot about the more attacking RB LB play that has been mentioned, will hopefully mean he isn't stretched out on the left. i think he'll come even though SSN are doing my head in saying it looks unlikely
Actually looking at that team is fucking cool Strong squad and 7 on the bench ftw I sooooooooooo hope we challenge this year

I think Liverpool will be serious contenders this year, especially if they get barry.

I have heard on the grapevine that Arsenal will announce the signing of a new midfielder before next Wednesday's game.
I'm thinking Gokhan Inler or Gareth Barry.
