Fresh rubber yo! It can't have come sooner either. Ordered 19th, delivered from Holland today. Great service.

I'm hoping these improve the handling, as the Avon zz3's were rubbish.

I spent a day researching tyres last month and ended up fitting 4 of these to my gf's TT (225/40/18) as they had the best reviews.

Transformed her car!

They're brand new, just dirty where they've been in transit for thousands of miles. The coloured stripes wouldn't be present if they were part worns

Yeah I did the same, seemed to get great reviews everywhere. They were a lot more than hankooks and kumho's, but I wanted decent tyres this time so paid the extra.

Yeah I know but the A rating for wet grip was too good to ignore.

On another note, just installed my gaptech module. Awesome bit of kit. Allows me to press to button inside just once for the roof to open and close, rather than hold it down.

It also allows me to open and close the roof via key. My key does let me do this, but you need to hold the lock/unlock buttons down and it always gets interference. Now I just press 'unlock unlock unlock' or 'unlock unlock lock' and it does it itself. Love it!

So expensive for such a small part though

Theres 5 wires which connect to the wires going into the ashtray button thing. Pretty simple really, just connect the wires together using the scotch locks you can see in the pic above.

Well worth the money. Can put the roof up and down in traffic now by pressing the button, rather than holding and waiting.

Cheers Jambo. Was dubious at first but it's a nice little gadget.

Gaptech decided not to work today, removed the ashtray bit and one of the scotchlocks had come loose, so squeezed it back down and it's alright now.

Think I might solder the wires instead as a few others have had the same issue.

Anyway, here's a pic for you.

Will do when the weather sorts itself out. Awful today.

Got the roof down locking mechanism fixed today so put that back on. Roof still doesn't retract fully and lock in position, but the facelifts don't do this anyway so it's not a problem.

Managed to fix the thumping noise it made as it retracted by playing about with the interior plastics. Folds nice and quitely now

Tyres on tomorrow. Really hope they don't rub, else it's going back on it's sport springs.

At last, got the tyres fitted today. Can feel the difference straight away. Car is more comfortable and isn't constantly trying to break free at the back.

Can see why the old tyres weren't very good in the rain!

Obligatory tyre shop pic:

Also picked up a lovely tyre inflator so I don't have to wait 30 minutes at the petrol garage any more

Before with 235/35's on:

After with 255/30's:

It's actually a lot comfier than the 235/35's pow. The sidewalls seem to be a lot beefier on the goodyears. They also get excellent reviews so should be fine for me.

There doesn't seem to be any rubbing issues yet, which I tested up to and possibly over the limit. Before, on the 265/30's, it rubbed at around 70mph.

Yeah it is quite low. I've bought some Eibach springs which don't lower the car as much as the current Fk springs I have on. Just waiting for them to arrive so I can fit them and see if they make a noticeable difference.

Must be weird to drive, if it isn't then i want one. Thinking about putting my car back to standard suspension soon.

Weird in what way? It's a firm ride but it went to Scotland and back with no issues and the roads up there aren't the smoothest.

Cheers Jordan

So far so good on the rubbing. Handling feels weird, almost like the backs have too much grip for the fronts proper weird feeling.

Need my eibachs to come through soon as I need a wheel alignment done. Going to fit the rears first and if I don't like the look, the fk springs will go back on and alignment done straight away.
