Went back to gisburn today as it was looking like being the best place for weather. Had a good, bit muddy and wet day out. Didn't rain which is good but sadly the good but which is hully gully was just a bit too damp to ride fast. Good times.
Kirroghtree next Sunday, supposed to be a good xc trail about 27 mile long with the black part as well.

Full suss 29er nice I've got an orange 5 650b on demo next weekend. I tried a giant trance x1 29er the other week and couldn't believe how quickly you accelerate on a 29er definitely next on the list to buy

I've tried several MTB's over the last few months and TBH was on the verge of fucking it off as it was okay but I just wasn't 'feeling it' as a last resort, and much to the disgust of many I tried a 29er.
It was a revelation for me I really enjoyed it. So I tried a couple and thought fuck it I'll buy one.
Picked it up friday but due to work I only got out on it tonight for a couple of hours. Need to get the suspension set up correctly. But nice bike..

Was in a hurry man, had to get there pick it up and dash, had anniversary meal with 'her' to go to Friday night.
I suspect it's something I need to learn to do myself tbh. Road bikes are so much easier lol.

Got home from a trip this morning and as the weather is quite nice I went out for a quick ride on my Ibis:

I am aiming to get 50 miles in every day for the next 3 days on my road bike. Want to get some good miles in on my S-Works Venge, only done 40 miles on it so far but it feels fast, just the rider letting it down big time!

I cant be the only one who is fucking clueless about bike maintenance/fettling and having to teach myself from scratch .....well this thing has been a gold mine to me ....
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bike-repair/id382006079?mt=8
Its aimed at idiots - and it has photos .... both of which helped me.
I have today successfully done a bit of indexing on my road bike front derailer - which has actually solved the issue.
I have also changed the big ring on my hybrid, trued one of the wheels to the point where it actually seems correct and cleaned both bikes including mucking out the cable housing on the hybrid which was full of shit and making the gear change sticky.
Also managed a 20 mile ride in a thunderstorm - didnt really fancy the 60mph country roads around here so I followed through on my aim to hit some hills and did a few laps of the biggest hill I have near me, nothing major, but went up it 3 times with a loop in-between .... its a start .... might have a trip out to uffington at the weekend which has some 8-10 per cent hills which is about as big as I have locally

Is it good?
I meant to go last weekend but went for a polo lesson instead.
What's it like in comparison to Cannock or Llandegla (assuming you have ridden either )

I've got Shimano Ultegra wheels, Hutchinson tubeless tyres and then used Stan's sealant on my road bike. Will be converting my MTB over soon when I replace the wheels because of the reliability I've had on the road bike
