Caliper to wheel gap
Quite surprised at the size difference between the standard discs and the 2ltr ones, don't look that much bigger.
Think I'll be going for 2ltr ones when I do my conversion but go for something bigger later on, I'm feeling 4 pots about 300mm ish discs, mmm

Got rear hoses fitted today
All good and fine.
Then as said in my brakes thread, i had a problem with my front brakes smelling funny and there being a rubbing noise. So today i took the front wheel off too as i could see that the caliper was rubbing
Anywho there was deffo an issue with the caliper
Yes i know the wheels are dirty. But dont care
I noticed the caliper just didnt look right for some reason and then noticed my mistake. As shown in this picture from the other day, you can see the clip was the wrong side
So took it off and realised i might aswell get some new ones as these old ones were slightly bent out of shape.
Nipped to Halfrauds - result
Nice shiny new clip fitted correctly
Other caliper was the same case, so sorted that one out too - all good now.
Slight marking on the disc because i had driven in as it was But it shouldnt be any long lasting damage.
Can also see a little bit of damage to the caliper where it was rubbing, but ill repaint as and when.
Back and looking good
Just having a few problems with bleeding them But im getting there.
Beginning to think it would have been so much easier to have paid the garage the £200 they wanted to fully fit the set up
But i guess the experience is priceless. Although it is rather cold and rather wet
Getting there, slowly but surely

£200 to fit them, thats ridiculous. Well done on nearly getting there, it'll be worth it in the end.

Well today i tried to finish bleeding my brakes after having been told how i should be doing it
So first one went well....but that was a sign i guess. Nothing ever goes well
And so yep. Couldnt get the other bleed nipple undone so banged a small spanner over it FAIL
Time for a new cylinder. So short journey and £8 later -
Had to take drum apart which i wasnt too confident about, but it was relatively easy
Old one out -
Old and new -
New one fitted -
All refitted and bled
Looking and working good
Woop woo.
Also gave her a quick wash and fitted dark headlights again Black Betty is back
Daylight pictures tomorrow if i get chance.

Fitted the GSI replica skirts i got for my birthday today
Wasnt too hard, as i had a very useful U2U from Tom Simes - so a big thanks to him
I screwed and bolted them in place, but used a bit of tiger seal to sort out a couple of places - so stuck it down Thankfully i dont pay for masking tape
Car was clean at 5pm last night
All done and looking great IMO
