surely not, how can anyone else decide who fergies best side is?
he could argue the team he picks is the best team to face Hull FC?

I dont understand how they could sue though? Who Ferguson decides to play is his choice surely!
exactly, they have no grounds im certain.
same as resting players through the season etc.
(although sheff utd got away with bs claims so maybe they can?)
Its not just one or two players, its when half a team is dropped!

thing is, whoever united put out, they are all proffesional footballers entitled to play if picked, ok so they arent as good as the main 1st team players, but still have just as much right to be picked. its not upto united to help teams avoid relegation, if they are still in with a chance of going down on the last day then they should have tried a bit harder during the season.
if we have manged to get ourselves in a position where we can rest players then why shouldnty they.
its like fans complaing when united roll up in the league cup and they complain that having bought their tickets they complain that they wanted to see the big stars, surely its up to their own clubs to entertain their fans not united. .

Yeah, thats where the grey ground is, as who is to say thats not the best side.
However if very very few of your first teamers start then it'll be fairly obvious.

Thats where I think I know it from, as Im sure it was mentioned then.
And if you look at the team we put out (Reina, Hyypia, Alonso, Sissoko, Bellamy, Fowler, Pennant, etc.) it wasnt actually that weak.

To be fair though, all our players with first team squad numbers have represebted their countries - Welbeck, Anderson, Macheda etc have all played for their country at some level.

There is surely no such thing as a weakened Man Utd team?

Not starting a new thread for this but...
WTF is Fergie on about? He said it would be a fitting tribute to their acadamy if Jonny Evans and Gerard Pique start in the CL final.
Now Im fairly certain United stole Pique off Barca when he was about 17, so Im not too sure how it would be a tribue to their acadamy. And I also think Jonny Evans was a late comer to their acadamy (16/17). So its not like either are real home grown United talents

Not sure why they would be suing anyway.
The 'kids' are going to try there best to win the game to impress the manager.
The 'first' team is going to avoid every single challenge so they have no chance of being injured for the final, so Hull would probably have an easier match against the regular team.

Didn't they steal Pique from Barca for one year before he went back anyway?

Well they were both in the academy in 2004.
Evans joined at 16, hes 21 now, Pique at 17, hes 22 now.
