I have been on holiday for a while and not progressed much with the 2.0 build. I decided to go ahead and use a sport loom to make things easier as couldn’t get a spark at the plugs.
I have fully stripped the dash and removed the loom, the 1.2 16v loom has connections for epas, the sport loom doesn’t since it doesn’t use epas.

Has anyone used the sport loom and kept the epas? I don’t want to sacrifice it for the 2.0.
If i dont get the car sorted soon im afraid it will be stripped

alright mate I like your project very niccceeee. bit of info when I done my conversion on a sport I had soldered the 9 pin plug onto the xe loom and I had a red wire and black wire spare the red needed connecting to the battery positive terminal and the black was the ignition switch live which connects to the xe loom into the 1 pin plug which is at the dizzy and coil end of the loom(on mine anyway) worth a check mate...good luck

Mate i had loads of trouble with mine do you get ignition power when you turn it on by key? Have you checked fuel pump relay they stop spark ( so i was told) all earths connected 1 near battery 1 off starting and charging loom 2 off xe loom on rail 1 on gearbox to chassis? Got red off xe loom wired up sounds like no power to xe loom? Does ecu power up when ignition on? you bridged fuel pump over so it works? Do not strip it will be worth it when its running Let me no how you get on

Definately try a new fuel pump relay mate. That sounds like your problem. Mine had those kind of symptons whn we turned it over without one on to check the compression

Have you tried connecting them wires? you definatly need them connecting coz the black is the ignition live. and i think the red is what powers the ignition barrel which in turn supplies the ignition live with power.. I had exactly the same problem with mine mate...cheers leigh.
