Interesting theory. Who's poorer someone who buys a car on finance and owes say 18k. Or someone that owns a cheap car outright

Surely everyone on here can buy an 18k car with a couple of months bonus, or a call to their portfolio manager?

Well thats you out then seeing as you got that Puma on finance
Moron.
What exactly is teh issue with buying a car on finance? Or Loan or PCP or any way shape or form?
I agree with John, people get their knickers in a twist because they are jealous end of story.
Also wouldnt you rather look back on your life having owned a few nice cars rather than driving around in shitters and never getting to experience having a nice car.

My puma is paid for I owe nothing. Whereas if you buy this you owe 18k or so. Nice attempt Sherlock, try harder

people shit themselves over finance because they look at it as if it's a debt.
it is, if you cannot easily afford the monthly repayments without it having a massive affect on your worklife e.g doing all the overtime under the sun to pay for it.
nothing wrong with buying a motor on finance and paying a few hundred quid every month our of your wages.
some people just can't save up. i've had 3 cars on finance and i'm doing fine.

I think it's unfair to generalise the way people are though. I don't like finance & I don't like buying brand new. There are other ways of owning cars.

i've saved up before for the house deposit. if i saved up 18k and blew it on a car i'd feel guilty, whereas a few hundred every month out my wages doesn't seem as bad.

I don't have a problem with finance I was just saying it as john tried to insinuate you are somehow poorer owning a cheap car when in fact you aren't 18k in debt

Utter bollocks, you chat more shit than your daughter.
Where all these new bits for your car come from? You haven't had a penny to rub together for the past 10 years all of a sudden you have spent a couple of grand on stuff.

John was quite clearly being sarcastic, there is some truth in it though.
A lot of people with crap old cars are always on about what's wrong with anything from this century.

it is true though.
like the way that tesco delivery driver thought i was poor because i drove a puma. it's just the way people see material things as being a status symbol of how much you earn.
