its not new news, but maybe its now in the news because people are realising it stinks you can buy other devices that have these features for a fraction of the cost.
i read somewhere yesterday a 100% markup on the new apple devices, they wont compete like that for too long when other devices are selling at cost. Relying on brand loyalty wont last forever unless you are providing good reasons to stay. Id say its already started looking at how many people are switching from iphone to samsung or other phones

Exactly, my ipad 2 and 3 you cant tell much apart from the speed, the 1 was slow. 6 months ago they were going on how fast the 3 was now they say this is faster. Faster at what exactly? Opening safari?

Steve - People who move from Apple to the competition are doing purely out of boredom. I'm under no illusions that this S3 is better than any iPhone I've owned.

Surely build quality is part of the equation for more or less any product ever made? Why on earth would you NOT consider build quality to make the product better?

Where did I say it isn't a part of the equation So the iPad will immediately be a better product than the N7 due to the build quality? The iPhone 5 better than the S3? Fuck, a BMW 3 series is now a better car than a Noble M600 too!
Of course it's a part of the equation but it's not the only factor in deciding it is better than the competition; which is what Russ said if either you or Ash have eyes and can read?
