There is a big difference between budget crap and branded tyres though, regardless of how carefull you drive.


i dunno, i bought the ones VW recommended for the corrado, paid half as much again over the normal firestones i get and i didn't really notice any difference really


Driving in straight lines i didnt notice other than tyre noise, but taking roundabouts and corners in the rain the front would have no grip whatsoever.

Doing the exact same route in my company car which has nice branded tyres and there is no problems.

Didnt stop me buying them though

Dunlop winter sports for me, the amount of snow plus completely untreated roads round here takes the piss. 15" steels with chains on standby when snow/ice gets really bad.
