Same here. I looked a few years ago and you could get them for 10k but font think they were the proper 69 model. Would be cool as fuck though but would never drive one daily.

Would the Stag be considered a performance car, though?

Just pick a car you really want and worry about the parts, repairs and what-ifs afterwards.

You can't plan what is going to go wrong on a car, i tried to work mine as worse case scenario could be whole new engine = Not even £1k, £2k for a recon one off the shelf. Total respray = £2k, then suspension, brakes and steering i figured couldn't be worse than £2k.
So say £6k to pretty much restore the car if required, was a £4k car to begin with.
Who doesn't spend £10k on a car when they are 25yrs, although i've had mine 6yrs and not reached £10k yet. Just the respray and engine to go.
KER-CHING!!

Would a Mustang? An M3/RS4 etc would run rings around a Corvette as well.

I don't care too much for the market value, as the people buying and setting the values are idiots.

Toms just stated parts are easily available... As opposed to buying a mustang which i can get parts for without importing...
You said that john-d wouldnt be able to service or run an m3, he did it and paid for the subframe to be repaired too.
Just because you cant afford to run a specific car doesnt mean i cant either... You have differant circumstances than me

You mean the buyers? Something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay.
