Had the rarb on a week now and it's made a massive difference definatley a worth wile mod !
Anyway I couldn't have the back end all uprated and leave the fronts so I got ordering

Front arb polybushes and wishbone polybushes

I decided that my corsa has done 70+k now and the bushes on the wishbones will be getting tired so got two brand new wishbones only cost £54

I pressed the old bushes out at work and pressed the new ones in

Got cracking

And the new one on

Got the arb clamp off the n/s easily

Put the new bush on.

All was going well until I got to the o/s arb bracket and one bolt rounded off :/ this halted my progress I'm going to have another attempt in the morning when it's light.

Just above the steering rack boot

Gave up as it went dark

Ordered some FK Silverline X shockers to upgrade to.

Sod trying to swap the front roll bar bushes with the subframe on.

I may be doing this job soon, which parts in particular (not including sheered bolts) were difficult it's hard for me to see what's where in the pics.

Also, what brakes did you upgrade to and were they a straight swap?

Thanks

Tom - doesn't fuss me needs to be done lol must admit a ramp is far easier but where's the fun in that ! Ha ha

Generation - you'll need an 18mm spanner for the wishbone bolts/nuts and a shallow 18mm socket wishbone wasn't hard to do really hardest part is fitting the bushes.
If I was you I'd get two new wishbones it's far easier getting the old bushes out and getting the new ones in

Hardest bit on the wishbones is the rear bolt as it's a bit of a fiddle as it's under the bulkhead.

As for the arb bushes I didn't find them too bad in all honesty if you look down the passenger side of the car from under the bonnet you can see the bracket the rear bracket bolt is the hardest to get to as you've to do it from underneath.
You don't need to take the bolts fully out you can loosen them and push the bush out.
Hopefully that helps

As for the brakes they are off a corsa C 1.8 sri front brakes are a straight fit just need the calliper and calliper carrier then 1.8 discs.

Rear beam is a straight swap.
Only things that are different are the handbrake cables (I just bought a brand new full kit) and the dampers have a larger bolt that the drum beam so you will need sri shockers.

If your unsure give me a shout

This has been annoying me since I got the car so decided to sort it out

New one on

Had some spare time at dinner the other day at work and it was quiet so got the c up on the ramp changed both drop links and a track rod as it had slight play.

This is what the farb brackets look like from underneath thought it might help you abit generation

Drivers side

Passenger side

Obviously there are two bolts on the other side facing the bonnet

Shot of my exhaust and I wax oiled the whole underneath of the car to protect it a bit more that's why there's yellow stuff underneath

Drives like a scalextric now much better with the front end all tightened up

26/12/14

Well Xmas day dinner was done and I was scrolling through Facebook and spotted some 4 pot hi spec callipers for a corsa c sent the lad a message and arranged to go today.
Pics from Facebook

The distance

Got there picked up the callipers etc lad said here you go have a look at what else I have ....

One smoothed boot in 20r even let me have the stickers for free ...

Not sure about it yet was an impulse buy , if someone wants it give me an offer might tempt me away

Going to get new pads and discs as you can see from the pictures one of the discs is badly scored.
Hopefully they are 280mm so I can run fiat coupe turbo discs instead of having to redrill some other discs !

Going to give the callipers a good clean can't wait to get them on !!

Set off home and it started snowing sat nav had a funny do and took me off the motorway should have taken the same time to get home as it did going, went along a roads for nearly two hours then had to stop as a wagon had crashed so had to go back along the a roads took 4 1/2 hours on the way home what a day !

Now I'm goosed

A few people spotted them but didn't want to pay the price.

I stripped the pads out today and cleaned the callipers

Don't look bigger than the standard brakes but they are bad camera angle

Generation as soon as I take the front callipers off I'll let you know.
The discs and pads were brand new when I fitted them a few months ago.
The sri brakes bolt straight on no fuss
And my corsa is only a 1.2 so is overkill but its only a 1.2 for now

They are quite a bit bigger I've a pic of the discs here

I couldn't tell you in exact mm the difference but they are better.

The pads and discs were new a few months ago , (few pages back) but yeah when I take them off I'll compare the sri calliper to the 1.2 calliper as I've got another corsa c

I'll send you a pm as soon as they are off.
Only problem may be that the postage is a tad expensive due to weight.
I'll use a courier though to lower the price
