Sounds like a cracking atmosphere at the Emirates for a change.

Hope Wigan do it purely for some last weekend drama.

Hopefully whelan will get bored now he's achieved his dream of winning the fa cup through Wigan and resign. Wigan will then fall to thier natural level and go back to the bottom reaches of league 2 been watched by less than 2000 fans

Aye

I've been wanting Wigan to go down for a While, but after the last few weeks, I wanted them to win today and stay up

How? You are remembered for winning things, not finishing 17th...

Sure cash flow wise its better to be in prem, on a personal level id love to see sunderland win a major cup..

Why anyone would choose a cup over relegation I have no idea?

Even that shit cunt Whelan said he would rather stay up than win the FA cup!

Next season, of all seasons, is the season every team wanted to stay in the Prem.

£65 million for finishing last

Perfect time to resign tbh. Leaves on a sort of high with everyone with no sense thinking they will come straight up but actually they will carry on going down and never be in the PL again. If he leaves now he can be hugely happy with what he did and not take any blame for them dropping down the leagues.

Be interesting to see how Everton fans take to Martinez next season. Flying with a Everton fan at the moment who tried telling me Mourinho was on the cusp of signing for them. I had to ask him if the is sure his name was not Steve and he was a united fan?!?

There are 20 teams I'd rather have regulated last night ahead of Wigan. Chief among them Stoke, Sunderland and Hull. the play good football, have good attacking players and a decent manager but their (injury crippled) defence is just abysmal. Paul Scharner was a re-sign too far, their front players could make them top 10 but their back 4 is just not good enough

Felt awful for the (300! less than last year) fans who made the trip.

Picked a great night to sit in the front row of the lower tier but did see all 2nd half goals at first hand and managed to sort out my ST for next season too

We all cheered wigan at the start in reocgnition of the FA Cup win, ahd great banter with them at HT as the away section was mixed with the home due to the lack of numbers, and we all applauded and cheered for them at the final whistle too.

Great win for us however, if we cna win by 2 clear goals at the weekend then not only will we get CL buty we will probs get 3rd too, as cant see chelsea beating everton.

However, if we win 2-1 and they draw 0-0 (or 3-2 and 1-1, 4-3 and 2-2 etc.) then we will have to play a play-off for 3rd place next week at a neutral venue (likely to be WHL )
