No worries Kyle.

Imo i'd do it to be on the safe side. My cross member was flaking rust everywhere so i think it was worth just welding it.

If anything happens when it's fitted, you'll regret not doing it.

Don't mess about me Ad',been in shed since 6 haha. Times flies when i'm in there. I reckon engine will be going in about March. Haven't got that much money to keep throwing at it,got other things to be paying including ah Luke's new handbrake cable, new MAFS and the MOT. Oh well.

Update 19.1.12

Today i went and picked up my gaskets. Rocker cover, inlet and exhaust gaskets. So got to work and fitted my inlet first, got rid of all the old gasket that was still on,proper stuck on aswell. Then fitted the water pipes on back of block.

Also been thinking about this powder coating business, don't think i'll be having them done as i reckon it'll cost a bomb in the end. When i went to get it priced up he said it might react as it's aluminum and then he'll charge me more to have them redone again. :/ So seen as i've got all paint in shed, might aswell spray them and lacquer them with gun.

Another thing,my rocker and cam belt cover are flaking off everywhere, right through to the aluminum and can't get them smooth. So probs use this untill i get it in car then get a decent one.

Anyways,enough chit chat!

Here's some photos :

Rocker cover off and inlet fitted

Fitted the water pipes and fitted bracket back onto alternator

My roose pipe Ash kindly gave me

And some of the engine

The gasket that i struggled to get off

Rocker cover and cam belt cover ready

Primed

Will get the rocker cover finished tomoz and see what it looks like and get it fitted, more updates tomoz. Dan
