FUCK. OFF.

Most likely (IMO), he'll sign 2 new CB's, keep Squillachi and play Vermaelen there until Gibbs is ready at whioch point he'll let Squillachi go.

Arsenal really need to stop letting the players run their contract down. Gives them all the cards when they want to move.

I doubt Wenger is losing much sleep over Clichy tbh, he's went backward from the 07/08 season onwards.

Manchester City are trying to hijack the attempt by Juventus to sign Sergio Agüero, the highly regarded Atlético Madrid and Argentina striker.
The Times understands that City want Agüero either as a replacement or strike partner for Carlos Tévez, his compatriot, whose future has yet to be resolved. Juventus’s interest in Agüero is so strong, however, that City believe that they could lose out to the Italian club if they sit on plans to sign the forward while waiting to discover what happens with their controversial captain. City hope the idea of Tévez lining up alongside his international team-mate may increase the chances of him remaining at the club.
Conversely, the sale of Tévez, who earns more than £230,000 a week and for whom City want a fee of £50 million, would effectively fund a bid.
Agüero, 23, has a €45 million release cluase (about £40.6 million) in his contract. City and Juventus would want to secure a deal for less, but their competing interest is likely to keep the price high.
Juventus have been chasing Agüero for months and club officials are due in Madrid this week with a view to striking a deal. City, though, are looking to muscle in and hope to make serious headway before the squad leave on Friday for the start of their pre-season tour to the United States and Canada. They concluded one transfer deal last night when Gaël Clichy signed from Arsenal for an initial fee of £7 million that could rise to £9 million.
The left back signed a four-year deal worth £90,000 a week after passing a medical yesterday, with City also hopeful of completing the £6 million purchase of another defender, Stefan Savic, from Partizan Belgrade in the next 72 hours, providing the Montenegro centre half is granted a work permit.
Samir Nasri is another target for City, although they face competition from Manchester United for the Arsenal midfield player.
Atlético are resigned to losing Agüero this summer after the striker stated publicly in May his intention to leave the Vicente Calderón stadium. Privately, Agüero — who is at present competing in the Copa América in Argentina — is thought to favour a move to Real Madrid, but Atlético have ruled out the possibility of selling their most prized asset to their bitter cross-city rivals. Chelsea have also had a longstanding interest in Agüero, who is married to the youngest daughter of Diego Maradona, the former Argentina captain and coach.
Agüero, who has scored 102 goals in 234 appearances for Atlético since joining the Spanish club from Independiente in 2006, is regarded as one of the most exciting young strikers in the world. He came off the substitutes’ bench to rescue a point for Argentina in a 1-1 draw against Bolivia in their opening group A game of the Copa América on Friday.
Clichy took a parting shot at Arsenal by questioning if Arsène Wenger’s squad had the strength and depth to win silverware after six seasons without a trophy. “I joined City because I wanted to win a lot of things,” he said. “Last season with Arsenal started well and we just collapsed at the end of the season after the Carling Cup final defeat by Birmingham City.
“Things can happen and you see the importance of having a big squad. We had a few players out and it’s difficult for a team to cope without Robin van Persie and Cesc Fàbregas at the same time. As a team you need a big squad if you want to go a long way. That’s why I joined City. You always progress with competition for places.”
It is a stark contrast from his view of the club two years ago. When Emmanuel Adebayor swapped the Emirates for the City of Manchester Stadium, Clichy said: “I really believe if you are a player who thinks only about money then you could end up at Manchester City. You have to think if you want to play for a big club and have your image or if you want to play for a good club and earn big money.”

And so it begins.

Thats what I don't get.

They chose to go back to Argie so he never sees them.

How could you not settle in England when your dad/husband earns £250k a week.

They could do what the fuck they wanted. Bloody build a mini Argentina if they wanted.

Could of built their own set of Wipeout if thats what they wanted.

If he really wants to move he is going to have to take a massive pay cut. Interesting stat - Carlos Tevez has scored or assisted 42% of Manchester City's Premier League goals in the last two seasons.

If he does go back to Argentina, then fair play to him, it was for family reasons.

If he goes to europe then he's a dick

Yeah but as long as they have a big stadium and a bit of profit, it's all good.

As I keep saying, when these caps come in (Assuming they're done properly) clubs like Arsenal & Palace will flourish. We spend only what we've got.
