He can be delighted, go dance naked in the streets for all i fucking care but don't speculate about the speed a driver was going with waved yellow flags out. Its not his place to comment.

Are you on another planet?

I've just watched the post race lewis interview and it was fine in the context in which it was said.

Just the usual bollocks by people who hate lewis so much they will try and pick anything out to prove he's a cunt.

He could say the Mclaren has black paint on it and he's get called a racist.

He also wasnt speculating to what Jules was doing. He was asked about whether the tractor should have been out there and his opinion was that it should be as if you dont you just have a car sat there which is an obstacle too and they put double yellows out so the FIA did all they could to make it as risk free as possible.

Agree that its worrying but at the same time, it would be no use them giving out some half baked info only to have to completely go back on their word a bit later if things took a turn for the worse.

#Breaking: Jules #Bianchi's father confirm on #FrenchTv that his son is currently being operated on and in a critical state. #f1 #sbsf1

Being operated on for "Head trauma" apparently. That is extremely worrying

I wonder if it was a situation where his head JUST missed the part of the truck which smashed the hoop of...of if it also made contact.

Surely having a digger on track was fucking silly anyway?

Why not have a crane other side of the barriers?

How is it silly? It's been done this way for years.

Thats just like saying open cockpits are silly.

The most recent image posted looks worse than I thought. Those rool hoops are strong as fuck, so to completely destroy that is nothing short of amazing.

They do have cranes at some tracks.

The problem basically is the height of the counterweight and angle he hit it at is 100% the worst possible combination. Incredibly unlucky, and sure to raise questions of procedure.

They have a crane at Suzuka at a different part of the track.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Poor bastard, talk about bad luck.

Marshals using the Tractor aren't at any fault, it's just an abnormal accident.

Great race by Hamilton. Once again putting the move on that mattered. His tyres should have been worse than Rosbergs but he really looked after them

Aweful accident but it's one of those things. It could happen at any wet race when the tractors come on the track. Could they have changed the timing, maybe but it could still have been really wet. Could they use cranes, not really IMO the would never get the coverage with them ie to cover the whole of silverstone with cranes would probably need everyone in Europe. Could they make people go slower, yes but then that causes other problems as tyres and brakes cool down

Fingers crossed he recovers and maybe we get a bit more safety in cockpit design

Reports suggest he's out of surgery and breathing for himself. Hopefully it's more Massa than Senna.

Regarding moving stranded cars, clearly covering the whole track with fixed cranes is always going to be impractical, a loader in this case, or more commonly a telehandler, is a very quick way of moving cars that are in a dangerous place as Sutils clearly was.

I guess one thing they could do is make sure all the recovery cranes/trucks have flat sides and a thin layer of protection
Looking at the back of the truck it was shaped to cause the car to crush under it

Is it right Sky Sports F1 shut off all coverage for today?

BBC didn't show the crash, though when on replay of the race.
