If it's not locked properly, it'll pop up at about 20mph, so easy to stop and sort out.

Happened a few nights back when driving up my street after topping the oil up.

Only thing is I can see myself getting bored quickly as it'll be the same sort of thing to look at, whereas a totally different car will feel new for a lot longer I reckon.

A member on another forum commented on my grubby engine bay (no surprise there, considering the gasket change), so gave it a clean up.

Comes up well for 11 years and 90,000 miles of use.

I did take the plastic cover off the front middle of the bay and it did indeed have patches of rust on, like Gav said. For now, i've gone over it with a black touch up stick, but will treat it soon.

Also went over the bonnet catch bolts with it as they were rusty. I did do the washer bottle bolt also, but it was done after this pic was taken.

New brakes next

unsure whether to go for new standards (pagid from eurocarparts), m tec drilled and grooved all round or try and source the bigger 325mm front discs, but then I need calipers and carriers also which are hard to come by.

Go mtec but don't get grooved. Noisy as feck! Just get drilled

I've got two missing bolts or whatever they are on that plastic panel. Guess the lost them when changing the bonnet catch. It's the two middle ones above the bmw badge

Yeah I had a few missing when I bought the car. Bought some more but the heads are so brittle, they get ruined when unscrewed, so binned a few and will buy some more. They're only cheap.

Lovely white z4mc on pistonheads for 14.3k mmmm

Do it. I think it would feel enough like a different beast for you not to get bored.
Proper seats. Mental engine. No electric steering!
I honestly think It would feel like a completely different car

Finally got round to sorting it horribly discoloured badges.

I'd had enough of the carbon fibre ones for a while now, so Decided to go back to the original badge.

Bought some replica ones off eBay and got them fitted today, along with my brand new side repeaters (as I made a mess of the cut down ones).

They do look better though I have the black ones in my garage, completely gone off them.

Need another new windscreen as just noticed a huge crack on the passenger side.

Not doing any more mods to it as I think it looks great as it is. Will sell the facelift rear light i have and save for bigger and better stuff.

This car is spot on Ben. Only thing I'd be doing next is uprating bits underneath but if it doesn't need it I'd agree in just keeping it as it is!

Cheers Darryl.

Brakes are very squealy at the moment, think the front pads are low as the discs seem fine.

One of the backbox mounts has snapped so needs welding/a new backbox.

Also noticed a 12'' long crack in my windscreen after cleaning it. Unsure how it happened, seems to have started under the seal at the top on the passengers side. Thats another new screen then. Insurance company will love me.
