Only really want a 29er for xc its faster and better for it I live at the base of the south downs and have 100s of milesof perfect xc terrain. But the Idea of a rd bike appeals for the fitness side of things

If you actually go and speak to some bike shops you may find they can help. I know the chap I ride withs shop do the bike 2 work scheme on over £1000 bikes. But they write the receipt for the max you can have ie £1000 and allow you to pay the rest seperately

I almost went for the semi slick option but felt these tyres have given me so much for so little monies, still need to pump them up to 65 psi to see what its like on the road

sounds fair enough :-)
I went for some michelin city slicks in 26x2.0 size. 9 quid each rolled epicly fast and were indestructable. bit squarmy on the loose gravel but that might have been the 80psi lol

cole as said go in a bike shop and have a chat. they can wrangle it about, my mate does it in his shop all the time. give me a shout if your interested in felt. good deals going on 2013 stock at the mo. im looking at the f4 team. £2500 down to £1850 tempting me massivly.

Whinlatter in the dark is a bit mental. Proper good laugh though doesn't seem to take anywhere near as long to ride round which is odd. Only had one Cree light mounted to the bike, need more.

Picked up a new tyre from mates shop this morning, he had a 650b orange in waiting for a customer to collect, looked pretty sexy!
