Bad times when Downing is good enough to play for Liverpool.
In your opinion, obviously.
Three years ago you would have been going mental at the idea of them signing someone like Downing. Shows how much times have changed
He's an average player imo, not good enough for liverpool and i'm saying my honest opinion

If Henderson is worth £16m (or 20)
Young is £15m with a year left on his contract
Nasri at £20m
Then I don't think £10m is too unreasonable for Adam tbh. He's still only 26 too
I think he would of done well at Utd, and I think Fergie probably looked at him too.
Also, why would Fergie care what other teams pay for players? Surely it'd be better for everyone if prices were kept down instead of hugely inflated? Fergie has said repeatedly there's no value out there at the moment

All these transfers (including the United deals) make the Hernandez & VDV deals last summer look ridiculously good value

A quote of mine a while back says i think no-one should pay more then £10m for anyone with only a year left on the contract. So i don't agree with the young valuation. or the Nasri valuation, unfortunately the market has been ruined lately but i honestly don't think adam his that good, he stood out in a relegated team who were shit. Not good enough for liverpool and not a top 10 team player imo
Yes there is no value but bumping the price liverpool have to pay up won't do united any harm

He's our first priority for the wing apparently. He'll add a good bit of balance and be a decent player for us (my honest assessment).
United paid £15m odd for Young who had one year on his contract. I don't think we'll pay much more than that for Downing who arguably performed more consistently for Villa and has 2 years left on his deal (but he's almost 2 years older).

Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb has told Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez to forget about signing Stewart Downing, saying: "We believe he is happy and settled here." (Daily Mail, 1540 BST)

We're meant to be in for Luis Suarez and one of Young or Downing (helping to finance the move for bent potentially). I'd be happy with Suarez and Young but i'd probably take Downing if Young wasn't available.

Fair enough.
I think Adam and Downing will do well at Liverpool. They've got a giant thug up front, so they need players who can provide for him,Downing is a proper wide man, and Adam has a fantastic range of passing. Time will tell I guess

Why did Rangers get rid anyway? Genuine question.

He was played on the wing for us, and funnily enough, was massively ineffective I'm not just saying this, I think Adam is a good player! £10m is too much for him, but then again, the fee paid for the likes of Young are laughable so it's not just him that's overpriced

I find it absolutely hillarious he wasn't good enough for Rangers but now is coveted by most managers in the EPL. Above that as well, the fans slaughtered him. Audibly. Every week.
All you need to know about the type of player you need to be to succeed at Rangers, a thug

Paul, I will stab you
Edit: But yes, he really wasn't good for us But come on, that man is absolutely useless as a winger Just sums up some of the errors our managers have made over the years. Advocaat played Gattuso as a right back, where he was brutal ffs
