Would be cool my block gets covered in shite from mud and rain coming through the side by the radiator next time its out its going black! Can imagine the gearbox being similar!

I reckon though if it's lacquered it will protec it more and then if it does get dirt or whatever on it'll just wipe off.

Did you paint it with Hammerite in the end Dan? If so do a quick test spraying some of your laquer over the hammerite on a bit of scrap metal or something as its a right bitch for reacting with different paints Might be alright but best to double check first

Yea mate,it's painted with hammerite.

Well in the end i did the rocker cover with hammerite spray as i'd ran out of star silver paint. And the lacquer was fine.

I'll practice first though mate and let you know how i've got on.

Hopefully it will turn out as good as the rocker cover and L piece!

I'm really,really pleased with it,the aim was to get it as shiny as the exterior and i reckon i'm not far off. I love it!! Here's some pictures.
