One honda is plenty for me and that's a lawnmower.

Well the car was left on the drive whilst I visited a very odd country. When I came back i noticed a very wet boot carpet, only on one side which has since dried out and hasn't got wet again. Very weird.

This morning in the way home from work I noticed a change in the engine note being piped into the cabin. Sounded like a v8 which was cool if not a bit too loud.

Had a look under the bonnet and it seems that one of the pipes directing the air into the engine/cabin has split, which again seems to be a very common problem, especially considering it's 11 years old.

Not sure whether to tape it up or leave it until I can get another pipe. Unfortunately you can't just buy that little bit, but it's only £25 so not too bad.

Still love driving it. Needs better front tyres on as they won't grip half as much as the f1's on the back.

Also still want a strut brace to tighten it all up.

I'm considering a strut brace too, combined with the coilovers I think it should help loads, front end doesn't seem stiff enough to give confidence when pushing hard

Yeah I agree. I think it could be the electric steering which detaches you from how the front wheels are feeling. Bit odd really, i'm not a lover of it.

Great on motorway cruisers, not so great on weekend drivers.

Yeah that's true, I'm not a fan of it either, I always drive with sport mode on but it's still fairly vague. Wonder if the whole column etc could be changed for a manual one or something.

Just read a few pages back to catch up that argument on the z4oc is hilarious. That Terry bloke sounds like you've taken his kids virginity.
Noticed he wrote "How could I have brought it" clearly should have been "bought"
Bet you had a right good laugh with all there childish behaviour

Strut brace on my E36 helped massively. On hydraulic so not the same but it stiffened the front end and made the steering feel better as well as being more direct, felt like it reacted quicker also.

100% worthy investment Ben. They aren't much either, just don't make the mistake I did and buy an OMP one

I was looking at either OMP or 'ultra racing'.

The OMP is only a horizontal brace, whereas the ultra racing is a 3 point which replaces the 2 braces from strut mounts to centre of the bulkhead, so that might be the better buy.

That does sound good. I cannot recommend that you DO NOT buy an OMP enough. Mine crumbled upon instilation, the brace bar with a nice lightweight aluminium, but the strut top mounts where made of cheese. Even aesthetically the finish was laughably cheap, one of the bolt holes failed on mine. It was utter junk.

Sparco not do one? Ultra racing one sounds good though.

Haven't seen any sparco ones for the Z4. Theres also one made by 'Weichers', but i've never heard of them.

They're on ebay.de mind so would need international postage

Changed that split pipe today. Bit of a pain getting access to the jubilee clips, but managed it in the end.

Old one had seen better days:

Whilst I was in there i removed the sound generator which pipes the induction noise into the cabin, just under the glove box. I thought both pieces of foam had been removed by the previous owner, but only one piece had, so took the other bit out.

Fitted it all back together and went for a test drive and the thing sounds insane! It's normal on idle and light throttle but far too loud for me as full throttle, so i'll be re-fitting that piece again.

Fecking loud with both out ain't it! Haha on full chat it sounds amazing tho!
I had to put mine back in when I got the exhaust done. Was just too much noise going on, can't remember which bit of foam I put back in.

What you want is a straight through exhaust. That sounds like a super car! Ha I love mine, doesn't get boring or tedious as a daily it's just too much fun!

Weichers are a well known supplier for Braces etc on the Continent - my old Corsas cage was made by them.
