Not much. Few mistakes here and there but mainly Lewis showing Rosberg how to boss Sochi Autodrom.
Saw a bit of a GP2 race and they had a safety car to recover a vehicle that looked to have stopped. JCB had to come out.
Wonder if that would've been double waved yellows if last week had not happened?

Just catching up on Quali as I've been out all day.
Good video piece on Safety by Brundle IMO.

GRRR. I'm in Louisiana this weekend and forgot that I'm a further hour back - so woke up about half way through Q3
Still, good result for "our Lewis" as he'll be known after one more victory.
What happened to Massa? I gather he went out in Q1? Mech failure?
Sochi track doesn't look too bad, nice and fast but bland as hell. It's like copy and pasting Valencia into a grey, industrial, Eastern Bloc environment.

I think it looks decent. Watch the gp2 race, plenty of overtaking opp's.
Last corner seems to be frustrating drivers like crazy, which is good to see.
Not sure what happened with massa. Massive loss of power and the team couldn't fix it remotely so left him out to see what he could do.
He does like a good old moan. He's like a big girl.

It would effectively by a SC without the SC - so would probably cut 2-3 laps away from the regular procedure.
It sounds like this is where they're headed, good call IMO.

Bloody avoided the result of quali all day whilst i was at work, then just as i was heading out of the transport office at 7pm i just heard on the radio in the background "And Lewis Hamilton will start on pole for this weeks Russian GP..." Doh
Still, got to watch quali in comfort for once, Lewis had Rosberg covered all day. Bottas would've been close but even he admitted 2nd was probably the best he could've hoped for, he had zero rear tyres left in the last sector.
Massa had a fuel pressure issue. Good result for Mclaren too.
The track is just a Valencia/Abu Dhabi/Korea mix. Not particularly inspiring but decent enough and the run down to Turn 2 is going to really punish a bad start.
Really think if Lewis takes this AND he doesnt get any mech failures for the rest of the season, the title is his. Really annoying that he could win this and the next 2 and still lose it in the last race if he DNF's and Nico wins. Dont want a DNF for either of them.

Very low wear here but that is one tall ask, especially as he'll have to battle through. Safety car could bail him out

No way Nico is making it to the end on this set. He needs a safety car around now, that would bring him back into it. If its a clean race then hes getting nowhere near a podium.

Doing better than i thought he would! If he keeps these times up, opens a gap, then puts the softs on he can go for a blast.

Didnt expect him to pull away from Bottas on 2nd hand tyres, the deg must be tiny. I think he'll stop again but hes still got a chance of 2nd as he'll be banging in quali laps.

Happy to see LH win again, but it was a bit or a boring race. Had NR not n00b'd the first corner, i think we'd have had a very exciting event.

Nico reminds me of someone playing a video game at just too higher level, keeps trying to push extra hard to make up the deficit but ends up making mistakes.
Great, if easy, win for Lewis. Wont have put much, if any strain on the engine, so thats good. 17 points at least gives him a buffer for any kind of mech failure in the next 2. Lewis is also very strong at Texas and Interlagos. Its looking good but anything can happen.
So, anyone moaning about Pirelli's degrading tyres now then after that?

Tobias Grüner F1:
#F1 Vettel will use 6th engine in Austin. He already announced not to take part in qualifying cause he will start from pitlane anyway.

Rosberk's cockup protected by circumstances again, but I suppose he kept his nose clean and did well to keep the tyres alive.
Bottas/Williams are annoying me now - they're just not racey enough once they get a podium, not willing to push for wins or in the case of today 2nd. It must be because their TP has got a fadge or something because the car is fine.
Dull-ass race though, T3 is decent but the rest of the circuit is dire - and Pirelli dropped a bit of a bollock with that one
Congrats to Mercedes though, fantastic car this year but let's keep them both screwed together for three more events.
Please make it 5 in a row Lewis

Apparently Pirelli were concerned about the SS's ability to take T3 and the high speeds. Maybe they need to make some tyres that are something in between each of the current sets, just so they can mix it up a bit.
So you'd have SSS, SS, S, SM, M, MH, H
