1.4 8v mpi is fastest, 1.2 16v is faster than the 1.4 8v spi

1.4 8v mpi is in SRi and some early GLS models - look for 'Si' badge on the back. 82bhp.

1.4 8v spi is in everything else, LS etc. Sometimes called the 'Hi-torq' engine 60bhp.

1.2 16v in newer stuff, B and C SXi etc. 65bhp in the B and 75 in the C although some people (mostly late B owners ) say some of the late Bs are 75bhp and identical to the engine which later appeared in Cs.

My mountain bike with buckled front wheel is more nippy than the C14NZ/X14NZ engine!
