Hi,

I would like to remove the oil level sensor completely from a 2.0L 16V XE engine. Ideally I should like to replace it with some sort of blanking plate.

Does anyone know if these exist and where I can get one from or will it have to be made up specially?

Regards, Jon

Why do you want to remove it?

Just take it out and make a copy of the plate....

I'd like to remove it because it's not connected to anything and it's taking up valuable oil space in the sump

Copying the plate is certainly one way of going about this.

Cheers, Jon

Why is the space valuable? If you keep your oil topped up then there is a perfectly adaquate supply of oil.

Or you could chop the sensor off the back of the plate to save some space.

Ok, if I was being a real pendant I'd argue that I'm saving some weight

Chopping the sensor (also suggested by BeArDy) seems like the best plan.

Cheers! Jon

They weigh feck all, your increasing the risk of oil leak, which will make you go slower than about 100g's.
