how you mean better?

in terms of look, price or perfomance?

lexmaul might look maybe better*its a taste thing*, but is not all that cheap and gains are quite similar??

dont know the price for sure but, think so...

so maybe go for the velos.

and lexmaul*according what ive heard* produces more mid range power, than velos, wich produces more top end...
so what you want?

MAntzel of course
My car with that inlet went from 89,4 to 114,8 in the same conditions and in the same rolling road, with a Superchip plus increased fuelling and rev limiter increased to 7600 RPM

But you need the cip Juha, because max power is at 7000 RPM and the car originally cuts at 6600 rpm

You only gain more power in the range 5500 rpm 6600 rpm, but with the c16XE maybe you can have mores gains

no wrong the lexmaul does give mid-range but it is mostly power from 4500 rpm then a big kick at 5000 right to the limiter its a 10-15bhp increase in power very good manifold,
get the lexmaul version others are good but looks count too an lexmaul stuff is excellent quality u get what u pay for

But the Lexmaul inlet manifold means that the air still travels pretty muchthe same distance as standard, hence why it give mid range power and not peak power.

Lexmaul gear is very expensive, you pay a lot for the name, as with the same as Mantzel. Velos is a cheap UK company.

PErsonnally, i'd still go with the mantzel for best gains.

i agree with daimob in lexmaul. but its 1.4 so does velos make big difference in perfomance with mantzel? meaning that if top end is wanted why not go for the velos torq tube? its cheaper and so on...

well on these engines its mid-range u want as there small an are not good at the top end because of the cc size

plus so i hear mantzel an velos are 20 bhp at peak power

lexmaul is 11-15bhp throughout the rev range so it gives some peak power along with mid range

just because the air travels the same dont mean its no better its just a different design the lexmaul uses a ram effect to force the air in like i said different designs

But do you have power runs in a rolling road?
Because I have
In the 1.4 14V max torque only increased because of the chip(+4nm). But in the top end torque increased so power is up.
And if you read Cars and Car conversions there's an issue about tuning the C16xe and X16Xe with power graphs from Courtenay and max torque didn't increased to

I'm happy with my Velos Torq Tube and Unichip that they did for me.

The only downside to this type of tuning is that the power gains are high up the rev range. It's quite cool mind to thrash along in 2nd gear as other cars and in 3rd!!

When I get my house sold, Im gonna try and get some new cams to increase the mid-range so i won't have to revs the tits off my engine so much!
