what i h8:
Handling - generally unstable on the road, and likes to veer under braking/acceleration.
Engine - Smokes from exhaust, sounds too raspy since decat, juddering when easing off gas, and hesitates under acceleration. Sump leaks oil.
Bodywork - needs a full respray, side dented, tailgate covered in primer, and bonnet scratched, bumpers diff colour, cos i put post97 ones on
the way i see it is:
engine - £1500-1750 for 2ltr conversion
brakes will need upgrading - £250
Suspension - £500
and bodywork - £1000
and if i burn it and claim off insurance, i could have lots more money to start again with

Suspension you can solve for about £200 for new stuff, or around £100 second hand.
Brakes cost about £50 for 2.0 16V setup.
Bodywork, shop around you may find cheaper. A blow over spray may be an option.
Engine - get a 2.0 16V conversion and have done.
Your choice though mate, but with people knowing those problems they probably wont want to buy it.
