I have got a corsa C sxi 1.2, I have just covered about 15500 miles and rekon the pads are ready for changing, I looked at a few places but can only really find Greenstuff pads.
Any recomendations please!

Standard GM pads are best with standard GM discs.

ive got mintex pads on mine.not much better than standard and alot more brake dust

I have searched other threads it looks like ebc greenstuff pads aint that good!
Prob just get OEM pads from Vaux then
I do tend to get brake fade when harder braking! maybe because the pads are wearing out.
any other advice

standar GM discs, piece of crap
Standard GM pads, the OEM is Mintex(Textar) good for drivers with more than 60 years old
EBC Greenstuff + Black Diamond discs, for me the best original diameter setup
Mintex fast road will kill the original discs
Get rid of it and fit HISPEC fourpots with EBC Green pads and than say something about it

you are missing the point ffls. he wants other pads. Fact is, you wont beat better pads than GM ones with GM DISCS!!!. GM pads are actually very good, using high performance pads with GM discs will see the discs needing to be replaced after a few thousand miles.

yeah and performance pads are very very hard. Discs are solid metal, but usually softer metal than performance discs.

erm, gm pads are the best u can get, i would never get ebc greenstuff ones again, pile of wank, they only started to work well when they got hot, crap for town driving so binned them for gm pads, miles better. why spend 100 quid on performance discs which are noisy and not a great deal better, much better to spend the money on a 2l brake upgrade.

ive got standard 2.0l front brakes on mine ,discs and pads and they have been on over 2yrs and still good.

Exactly kris. GM pads are best all rounders. ffls, greenstuff pads and black diamond discs? Not worth the extra money. ATE calipers and 256x24mm discs from an Astra GTE will stop you better, and probably cost less!

Greenstuff pads are the biggest con ever
as are grooved discs for road cars
have a look at porsche's, ferrari's & AMG mercs and also most road motorbikes - do they use grooved disks? no sir they use cross drilled

they use HIGH QUALITY cross drilled brakes. Low quality ones like black diamond, EBC, tend to fracture very easily. CON CON CON!!

But boys,
I use TAROX 6 alloy pots 285 mm slotted and cross drilled discs, TAROX pads, braided hoses and I can assure you that my car can brake better than almost any BMW, VOLVO, MERCEDES etc (not Porsche and Ferrari of course!).
So my point of view is that its better to spend a few hundred quid in Hispec Motorsport and you get a terrific setup 584 buys a top Kit, and for fast road, or furious road driving GSI calipers simply aren't enough
I was killing discs at an alarming rate but not any more

you really shouldnt be driving like that on the roads anyway. Keep it to trackdays. There is nothing wrong with tar-ox at all, but we were talking about EBC and black diamond amongst other shit. Stop changing the subject

Hi-spec uses EBC Greenstuff in their kits!
I have also used EBC Greenstuff with Brembo plain Discs and its much better than GM Pads + GM Discs, and you know more?
It's a lot cheaper than GM Stuff here in Portugal!
Ferodo pads, Mintex (good to destroy discs!), and Pagid, for me are all inferior to EBC Greenstuff (and I've tried them all:lol
When used in a race car in Estoril it gave an advantage of 1 plain second over Mintex drived by an experienced racer (my mechanic) and if you read Car and Car conversions, Dave Walker reached the same conclusion when improving their AUDI brakes.
But the main point is, why to buy inferior piece of kit (GM) if you can have Hispec for a little more?
But you are right in one point never use perfomance pads with OEM discs, they warp in 2000 miles

hi spec arent road brakes, they are for race applications, you dont want pads that hard for road use.

Sorry mate, but wrong answer. Hi Spec has 3 types of Calipers and the road ones are fully dust sealed, as oposed to the race ones which are even lighter.
And this type of brakes are not only for race purposes, see Ferrari and Porsches (and now even Mercedes:lol

Yes I had, I have spent a fortune in pseudo brake upgrades
but not anymore, and for me Wilwood and Hi-Spec are the best VFM you can get
