I was coming down on the A5 from Northampton, came into a place called Sandstone? (spelling) and it went from a 60mph limit to 30mph. There wasn't the normal grey speed camera post with the florescent background but there was signs warning of cameras. Now I know I should of come right down to 30mph but going downhill I didn't brake strong enough and passed through at about 35-38.

There was this black sign with like a flash box camera (very small, almost like cctv) on top of it, which was similar to one you'd see on the motorway with the yellow flashing top and bottom. It was right at the welcome to Sand.... signs. Is this a speed camera, was the flash a real camera shot of my car? or just a warning to slow down. Im not sure what, any ideas?

no if u were going faster it would have lit up and Flashed the text Slow Down u obviously didnt trigger it off, but they do nothing

What did the black sign say? Did it have a speed camera symbol illuminated?

If they don't do anything wouldn't people not just drive right through them at any speed though?

yes its for people who normally care about there speed and that are nt boyracers that dont realise they have edged over the limit that warns them to slow down, if u dont care about ur speeding then just ignore it at will
