Disconnect the battery for an hour or so. that resets the ecu!

He's in his only little world where he doesnt listen. I have reset my ECU before and discussed this many times.

If it's got a SimTec ECU, then you cannot reset the ECU yourself...

take off battery for an hour - or if u have (like me) an ecu fuse, take that out for 15 seconds

does it actually do anything...as i hear from some ppl..it alters itself on its own..resetting ecu is just a myth that leads to problems

not on a toyota - for example

when i run low on charge cooler fluid - the ecu light comes on - and cuts boosts, - if i top it up - boost is still cut intill i reset the ecu

depending on car and ECU make, then yes it is possible to wipe the ECU memory. In my expereince with my old 1.2 Corsa, it had a Bosch/GM unit and disconnecting battery for 2 hours did not wipe it. However leaving battery disconnected overnight worked. Reconnected battery and started her up, sounded like it was going to stall to start with, but kept itself going until it was at steady idle.
