I think u'll get bored of the 100bhp 8v unit. Not to tunable either. Even with twin carbs ur only looking at like 140bhp.

Forget:

Any Interior
Pretty alloys (Get proper motorsport wheels)
Fancy spray job
And basically anything that you dont need

If you want a toy, make it a toy, not another boy racer cruiser.

Valver will do it in sub 7 in a nova, and thats a standard engine.

Standard 150bhp
Or higly modded 140bhp

Thats why i love my engine, cos u can drive it hard, and cos its standard, it'll be fine.

You can buy a whole Astra GTE for £300 if you search hard enuff, local freeads, auctions etc.

A whole car for £300, take the engine out, sell the rest of it, say at worst u make £200 back, still worth it.

If its a project, it'll take you time, hence £20 each per month = 2.0 in no time.

2.0 2.0 2.0

I think ur old man would enjoy it.

Pffff, thats well expensive. AS i say, look in freeads etc. Auctions are also great for bargins

Pros of a 2.0
Standard and safe
Power power
More torque
more tunable
looks neater
Fookin fast for a small car (nova will be faster than the corsa, its lighter).

Cons
Bit harder to fit , think u need to cut a little bit of bulhead
drinks more petrol, but less than a tuned 1.6 8v, so in effect thats a pro
Insurance (but if its a project, ur be 20 by the time its done, and insurance wont be so much of a problem).

In my eyes, 2.0 wins hands down.

You need to have a crack of driving one Its oo much fun in a small car, how vauxhall should have made the corsas n novas.

£350 sounds good yup!!! Then you can sell all the rest of the bits, wheels, digi dash, interior, body panels etc, keep the brakes for teh front, do a rear disc conversion etc.

It makes much more sense to build a small poo nova into a 2.0 than building it into a 1.6 8v.

At worst a 1.6 16v!!!
