Hi all,
when installing my HU today (what a bugger it was) i found the MFD is wired to the Remote line (blue wire, might have antenna written on it), so you can just disconnect the remote cable from the HU and it will save you having to cut the grey/red wire  Obviously if you've got amps to wire up then you will NEED to the cut the wire.

Usually most aftermarket headunits have a blue or blue/white wire coming out of the HU connector which isnt connected to anything usually tagged 'REMOTE' OR 'P REM' anyway so no cutting is needed.
