Quicker, a 1.4 Corsa B (not hi-torq) or a Corsa B 1.2 16v ?
Similarly how does a 1.2 16v B compare to a C.
Possibly to resolve these threads someone post an experience of hars to head in std cars against std cars.

Fairly sure the 1.2 16v is faster than the 14 8v
I am convinced the corsa B and corsa C 1.2 16vare basically the same.... think the lower bhp in the spec was a con for cheap insurance.

1. 1.2 16v Corsa C
2. 1.2 16v Corsa B
3. 1.4 8v SPI Corsa B
in that order
though some late run out Corsa B 1.2 16v's also have the 75bhp engine found in corsa C apparently

gam: my 12 16v corsa B is T reg 1999 and has the plain alluminium rocker cover.
If later ones have the corsa C engine, do they also have the drive by wires and black rocker cover?

0-60 top speed BHP
1.4 8V low torque 13.3 95 not sure
1.4 8V high torque 11.5 106 not sure
1.2 16V (from B) 13.1 101 about 65
1.2 16V (from C) not sure bout figures,about 10BHP more than B 1.2 16V
Someone else could probably fill in the gaps, above was from haynes max power manual.

Corsa B 12 16v is rated as 67bhp (although it's at least 70 imho) and has a book top speed of 105mph.

0-62 time of the Corsa C 1.2 16v is booked at 12, so seeing as thoi you are well into third gear by 60 mph the 0-60 time is only going to be slightly quicker than 12 at about 11.8 I'd say.
The reason I asked is a mates g/f has the choice of a Met Blue Corsa B 1.216v and an earlier (but lower mileage) mint condition M reg Red 1.4LS.
She had an AX 1.1 and for a 1.1 it was surprisingly quick, so wants a resonable replacement.
I did a search and found the post about the 1.2 16v Corsa vs Nova SR.
Seems the opinion on which is faster was half and half.

Yeah a 1.1 AX would be fairly nippy as its made from the same stuff they make Coke cans from, and its just as strong.

corsa b sxi has 65bhp standard and the c has 75bhp
