Which design of manifold is better, a 4-1 or a 4-2-1? Cheers

not sure but:
4 - 2 - 1 promotes better performance (increase flow of spent exhaust gases)

Don't some Corsa's have a 4-2-1 design as standard?

A standard 4-2-1 manifold isn't anywhere near the same design as an aftermarket 4-2-1 manifold. 4 goes straight into 2 which evenutally joins into 1.

A 4-1 is a manufacturing compromise, (its cheaper) whereas if you look at a performance engine it'll prob be 4-2-1.
its about coincidence of pressure waves.
