I just got ripped off 35 quid from vauxhall main dealer to read fault codes
from my ECU using a TECH2. It's an absolute racket, I watched him do it,
it took him less than one minute. I'll NEVER buy another vauxhall.
Can anyone recommend an aftermarket code reader? My car is 1998 1.0L.
The halfords gunsons box doesn't work on my car.
Has anyone found any PC or palm software to read the ECU codes?

I just HATE being ripped off by the fokking dealer javascript:icon('')

It's got a 16-pin interface, pin 6 is missing (no metal connector in the
hole) so shorting pins 5 and 6 don't work. That's the same trick the gunsons
box uses that that don't work eever. So which pins, m8?

Thanks, but their info doesn't work on my car! They say short pins 5 and 6
if you've got a 16 pin socket, and my pin 6 ain't got no connector in it.
So, back to square 1!

If pin 6 is missing then uve probably got a car made after '99
You might be able to short 2 wires by the ECU to read the codes but i dont know if it'll work or not.
What car is it?
