I plan on keeping my GTI until I'm 25ish then hopefully insurance wont be too bad on an evo or similar.

Well i looked at the 106 tonight, turned out it wasnt as clean as it seemed!
Exhaust was blowing(needed new one, he admitted after i pointed it out, when originally he said nothing wrong with car!!) err had scratches on boot, mirror and had a tiny ding in rear quarter. Rocker gasket was leaking, err few other little bits, and he wouldnt budge on price, so i thought feck it, reckon it was only worth 4200 maybe 4500 absolute max, so have left it for now, gonna ring some more tomorrow.

yeah leave it alone..better ones out there i think.....

he should have came and went a bit on the price....

Cheers for the advice Nik, a few years ago i would have been tempted to jump straight in with both feet the first one i saw, but i have kind of learned my lesson so am gonna wait for a decent one.
Just rang a garage up about one they have, its diablo red 52k (no leather unfortunately) sounds ok though, well have full valet years ticket, warrenty and is up for 4495. Hoping my mate can take me to look at it this afternoon?
