theres a re-bore place near me and he says you can get an extra 200cc max anyway back to the original question

I remember a topic years ago about this. A bloke was admiment his GSi was a 1.8 and he'd used the original block. HE got slated big time. When he had his feature later that year it was a 1.6 16v with exhaust, nothing else

I dont think the blcok walls are thick enough to bore out 200cc. Even the 2.0 can only be bored out to 88mm (2.1).

Will give you a little extra power, little more torque.

ive been misinformed then, this was my arguement, im havin trouble tellin a mate of mine that he'd be best off going the 2litre route, but hes 2 years younger than me and doesnt have 3.5k to spend at the min

im including the parts,engine,labour cost, suspension kits,gearbox,rear disc convert fitting kit etc. just a rough estimate

for insurance reasons he wants to bore his lump out a little, and get a better compression ratio by skimming its skull down a bit
