wheel bearings 10 quid

rear brakes 100 quid

exhaust back box an most of the
underneath 60 quid

headgasket 230 quid

accelrator cable/fan belt and brake pads came to a total of 170 (i thought that was over priced apparantly the accelarator cable cost 51 quid ?

i had many more little things go like the ECU decided to screw up

brake lights stopped working etc

jus about to fix a new hazard warning light switch to cause mine dont seem to wanna turn off when u turn them on

only good thing is im 18 and it costs 250 quid insurance (with my nan on as main driver.) oh performance is pretty punchy to

what would we do without our olds!! Iv got my dad on mine to make it cheaper, is yours a sport? My insurance is 660 fully comp n im 19, is yours fully comp for 250???

mine is 5dr so cheaper insurance

its a 1.4si

250 fully comp started the policy when i was 17

i pay i think 26 quid a month

aah that explains it then... and im the main driver on mine so thatll make it more exp.... Anyway mate iv gotta get back to work now, talk soon ;-)

Open the oil cap and look inside. If there is white gunge around the cap then its def your head gasket.

there wont be any oil in the water or water in the oil because the 1.4 16vs go between the water jacket and cylinder on number 4.

Try taking no 4 spark plug out and see if it is siexzed in

yup ainsley is right, firtly my thrmostat went then that cooked the head gasket risked driving it home from london...big mistake

took it in to have the gasket done, ended up chuckin cams in when the head was off etc had it ported flowed and polished then three days later the car was loosing water and sounding dogy turns out the original head was cracked so i had to source a new one and get that all done...lotsa cost i can tell ya Dont ever leave it or risk driving it when the head gasket is gone

think my head gasket is gone too

i get white smoke and the car kinda splutters at idle. also the temp needle went off the guage yest! checked the water and it was practically empty!

also need a new battery aswel seems myine went flathte other day and hasnt been the same since

oh yeh, and my radio dont work

rung up vaux, they want £420 inc parts and labour to replace the head gasket! the parts are only £14.10!!

there goes my colour coding, zorst and de-cat

parts are more than £14.10!

Battery alone from vaux will be over £40 plus head set/bolts/oil/filter/belt/idlers etc etc
