I reinstalled Windows 98, and the most colour display I can have is 32 colours. How do I get this back to 256 colours again ect???

Sounds like you need to get the right drivers for your graphics card.

Download the latest ones from the manufacturers website, install and away you go

How do I find out what grafix card I've got???

It just says Standard Grafix blah blah blah Card

Yeah Windows wont say very much unfortunately...

Have you not got any driver CD's that originally came with the computer, or the card? If so, use them...

If not, case open and have a peek at the card itself

Ive got a System restore Disc, but when I put it in nothing happens. My case is open right now. I'm not good with computers what does the grafix card look like, and when I've found it how do I know what make and model it is????

I'm assuming it's a separate card and not an on-board (integrated with motherboard) one.

It will probably be the 1st card in the row, just check it against the blue VGA connector on the back. Have a look on the front of the card, and try to see if it says any manufacturers or models on the chipsets.

If the blue vga connector is bundled with a shitload of other connectors on the back of your PC you have onboard graphics, meaning you will have to look at the controllers on the motherboard (black squares) and look on there for details.

follow the cable of your monitor back to the pc where it plugs in on the other side of the plug thats the video card
