ok,

8 / 3 = 2.66'

3 - 2.66' = 0.33'

8 / 0.33' = 24

2.66 - 3 is 0.34

then 8 / 0.34 = 23.53 (if you are rounding to 2 decimal places )

think of it in fractions instead of decimals and it makes it easier. 8/ (1/3) is the same as 8 * (3/1) = 24

Q: How to make 24 using the numbers 8,8,3,3

A: 8 / 3 = 2 and 2/3

3 - 2 2/3 = 1/3

8 / (1/3)= 24

(Summary in case people were confused)

Just do the following on a calculator, but dont round any numbers. Note that below the ' means theyre recurring.
