My sideskirts appear to have been fitted with silicone holding it onto the car so its running all along the sill and just up around the bottom of the rear wheel arches. It's quite thick in some places and obnviously i don't want to scrape it off.
Any ideas for removing it off my paintowork?

chisel and wire wool.....
Only playin. silicon doesnt really work well with solvents so you just gona have to spend some time with a knife and a cloth and very slowly remove it.

It's a pain to remove, even when you've picked off what you can see, it will still leave residues.
There is a product marketed to remove silicone, it's called Silstrip. It's marketed by a company called Penn-White Ltd (see www.pennwhite.co.uk, click on the link for silicone remover).

when i worked for a coachbuilders, they used a bond alot (not silicon as spray dont like it!), just to use a razor blade to trim it off and then used thinners i think

I'd really be careful.
i had the same dilemma with my when i stripped my car down, and it was near impossible. I asked on CS, Mig and other forums, and ppl suggested stuff like "silicon eater" etc, but that was like £11 a tube (shop on the net), and even then it was gaurenteed to do it.
Luckily, a week later, someone crashed into my corsa, meaning i got a full respray anyway, and they got the sealant off. (they just sanded it away).
I'd recommend Autoglym intensive tar remover to remove the residue once u got the bulk off, its excellent stuff, but dries really quick.

Cheers.
I know one of them is held on with silicone and i'm hoping that the other is. Might just have to keep them on if the adhesive doesn't come off.
