standard 1.6 is 9.5seconds, a 2.0ltr is between 7-8seconds, my car with these mods:-
viper induction kit
superchip
lexmaul inlet
cat back grp a scorpion stainless exhaust
is quicker to 60 that a 1.6 16v corsa buti m in the process or trying to sort out a c16xe engine now, but needs a major rebuild!

Superchip worked fine in D5!! Worked very well. Mantzel superchip is very good.

Also, the Nova (This one) was running the same mods as Donna, same superchip, 155bhp i think.
Again a C16XE engine. Superchip worked great on this engine too.

HAve you had either of them? Does teh unichip raise the limiter to 7500rpm? Has the unichip been mapped specifically for the particular engine and its mods?
Donnas graph is fine, superchip worked fine, great package D5 had.

Of course a unichip is mapped specifically for the particular engine and mods.
Its horses for courses. A superchip will raise the rev limit, a unichip will sort fueling and ignition, but releave you of an extra £200 at the same time.
Your never going to get the fuel potential of power with a 'guess' map.

Mantzel Superchip isn't a guess map, it was mapped for the Mantzel box and C16XE engine. It sorted the air/fuel etc and mapped for the mods. Hence why the above nova got around 155bhp and Donna's got aroudn 160bhp.

But lets face it, you want something proper, you wouldn't use Unichip or superchip anyway

It is a guess map as its not specific to the particular engine, it doesn't know what exhaust, air filter, mileage etc etc, so it will be a general universal map to some extent, which is all an off the shelf item can be.
Neither are the best option, but the unichip is at least giving a mapable solution for a reasonable price.
For £200 the superchip is at least good for raising the rev limit and (maybe) slightly improving the fueling.
