Its on a 1996 Astra F GSi. The fan will only work when the switch is set to position "4". It does not work at position 1,2 or 3.
Possibly blown relay? If so, where do I find the relevant relay as I can only find a fan fuse under the dash which is still complete. I assume the relay will be under the bonnet but I'm not sure which one it will be. Or could the relay be in one of the kick panels?
Anyway....I'm just after some ideas incase it is a simple fix. If not I'll take the old girl into an auto sparky.

hardest bit will be getting to the motor! i aint got a clue where it is on an astra

if the worst comes to the worst & you can get a new resistor for it then just get a replacement motor from a scrappy
