My Camera is getting old now  but I still think it's pretty good.
Sony Cybershot P31 2.0 mega pixels.
Great first digi camera for me, does mpegs too but no sound.
Or go for the P71 that Icy used to have.

i have just got a Optio S for christmas off my mum
Specification:
The Optio S measures just 83 x 52 x 20 mm (3.3 x 2.0 x 0.8 in) and weighs in at just 115 g (4.1 oz) ready to shoot, specifications we'd expect to see from an ultra-compact fixed lens digital camera, all the more amazing then that it has a three times optical zoom lens. Pentax has achieved this feat of miniaturization by altering the lens design so that when retracted three of the lens elements actually move upwards allowing the lens to take up less space. The only hint of this design from the outside is the vertically offset front lens element. The Optio S has a three megapixel sensor, lightweight Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery and stores images on SD / MMC cards.

my girl friend has just got the 2100 Coolpix for christmas. it look good. Bet the 3100 is better obviously.
Could have got the 3100 for 210 around my way

 I paid £200 for mine back in July @ a Sony Centre - but got the free carrycase thingy. Mind it had only just come in when I got it!
Nice little camera but eats batteries quite quick or it might be my batteries are fecked.
Would recommend it.

The Fuji A303 is an excellent camera for about £150, 3 megapixels aswell.
