it wont stop working mate, but the bit in the middle that shows you what station your on etc will be blank. However, disconnect the remote lead (blue cable) it will cause the MFD to display the date all the time - more can be found in the tutorial section about this.

However, there are a few headunits that you can get a adaptor for to work with opel/vauxhall MFD's...i think kenwood have a few stuff. But to behonest mate, go for sound quality, functions rather than going for a make that shows the radio stations in ya mfd
