Finally went at my roof-skin the other day, as couldnt find a torx bit to undo it all, so cut it out.
In the middle of the roof, there is a support beam which looks like it was glued onto the main roof, but as the car is 8 years old, it looks like the bonding glue they used to stick it has finally gone bad in all the heat & over time, and its all just shattered, so the beam is loose.
Reckon it would be a good idea to stick it back to the roof, or take it out? There will be a roll cage going in at a later date though.

If you take it out, you'll probably find the roof flexes like a sheet of paper, especially when closing the doors.

I once fitted a sunroof to an old Astra and we cut through that beam. It makes the roof rigid. On mine, the roof would ripple as the car was moving, and if the doors were slammed shut, the air pressure actually made the roof bow outwards, a bit like the lid on a yogurt pot.
