Is it possible to add it to a car originally built without it as my car is pissing me off as the fucker tramlines everywhere and im not sure but the steering feels like that something aint right!
Anyone heard of the steering being damaged by the advers effects of bigger wheels?

Tramlining will be more obvious with wider wheels. If it has been lowered try checking that the camber/tracking/toe in etc are still correct.
Power steering can be fit but it will be a fairly expensive job as you will need a new steering rack, pump and associated hoses/wiring.

bigger wheels does have this effect...
tracking coulc also be out, or tyres have too much air

depending on engine...
steering column from model with powersteering
powersteering pump, fluid resevoir, change crank pulley to run the powersteering pump
not sure what else, but think thats about it

Would it be easier to fit electronic power steering, as per 12v Corsa's? Thats what mine has and its shit hot compared to the hydraulic one.

i have 1.2 8v, crank bout £15-£20 yeh? (pish to fit) where do i mount the pump? and resivoire? how hard is a steering column to change?

looking at it now, looks like it would be easier to use an electric power steering pump
the other bolts onto the engine itself, but there is no mounts on the 1.2 8v for it to be attached to
resevoir usually on passenger side just infront of battery.
is the steering gear assembly sorry not steering column which needs to be replaced. thats the one which is behind the engine, you need to disconnect the gearchange linkage from the 'box.
slacken & remove nuts securing steering gear track rod balljoints to swivel hubs and release balljoint tapered shanks using balljoint seperator.
remove intermediate shaft, you need to set wheels to straight forward, use a marker pen to make an allignment mark between steering column & intermediate shaft joints
slacken & remove upper clamp bolt and lower clamp nut
disengage the shaft joint from steering column, then slide shaft from steering gear pinion and remove it
mark position of mounting rubbers on steering gear housing (used to refit correct position)
slacken and remove 4 nuts and washers securing the steering gear to the bulkhead, then remove the mounting clamps
detach the rubber gaiter from bulkhead
move steering gear towards right-side of engine then lower left-hand end of assembly, manouver it out from underneath the vehicle. ya may need to lower the engine a bit though to get clearence
thats just removing the old normal one, fitting the powersteering one is just a bit longer than that!

ball joint splitter for swivel pins, upper and lower arm ball joints and track rod ends. Way to split tie rods or ball joints without tearing rubber boots or damaging threads.

at a guess would it be the rack out of a corsa b with an ecotek engine fitted with power steering that you would use?
And what would you get the electric pump off pump off?
This is the main reason y i wont do any modding to my 1.2 8v its hard enough turing the steering with 13" steelys on it never mind if i was to put 16 or 17" 205's

i can supply u with an alternator, bottom pulley, pump, fluid bottle all hoses, steering rack and the coloum if thats needed aswell. but not sure if it is.

these will fit onto a 1.2 8v mechanicly or is it an electric pump?

its mechanical type. it should just bolt straight on to a 1.2 8v. as for price offers? as its not all my stuff so il have to speak to my mate. the only thing is the engine mount on the drivers side of your car will need changing i think

ive done a engine conversion on a 1.2 8v before that was on a p plate which had power steering

p reg being a 97? i live in ireland different reg system
so if i get my hands on the parts and the engine mount from a 97 id be laughin?
id get them off u but as ive said i'm in ireland and cost of shipping them be be crazy

yea p reg 97. the engine mount is quite different thou so the chassis leg needs modding where your mount will go. but only a few hours work
