my battery gone dead second time in a month or so. So i'm gonna get a new one now. Is it just a matter of unscrewing the neg and pos wires and swapping the battery? or is there more to it, my dad aint home to tell me how to do it thats all.

why have two gone in the last month? Are you sure your altenator is alright? If so, yeah, its just a matter of swapping them over and safely disposing of the old one.

koolkorsa - it sounds like you have an earth leakage fault somewhere on your car thats causing constant drain on your battery - are you running any ICE coz that might be causing it - a faulty REM lead to your amp or something like that.........you should take it to an Auto-electrician and get him to clamp your battery lead - that'll tell you if its leaking to earth.
I had the problem on one of my cars and was getting through batterys like no tomorrow - what ive just explained was the problem - in my case my ICE.

As for changing the battery - take off the NEGATIVE first................

Deff take off earth lead first and re-connect last. Not sure of the reason why but guess it's down to the risk of a short circuit if something is dropped between the positive terminal and car whilst the battery is still earthed.
Make sure you know the code of any ICE or alarm that may need to be re-set after disconnecting the battery. Clock will also need to be re-set of course.

last thing you want it the power for the block coming off while driving due to the battery tugging away at it
